Each one of these will appeal to a different group of people at a different time in their lives. One thing that really appeals to a lot of people, particularly when they are young to middle aged is a house with a patio.

This huge quantity of appeal is probably why lots of homes have patios, particularly in South Africa. You will note big patios, little patios, enclosed and open patios. Nearly every home within South Africa has a patio of some kind attached to it. If a house is bought without a patio then it is likely that the new proprietors will build one on if there is the space to do this. There's one big reason for this popularity however.

A patio is a superb spot to entertain. You can set up a table as well as chair set and have meals outside in the usually balmy climate of South Africa. You can setup a braai and cook your own meat as well as garlic breads and mushrooms and serve them hot and steaming to your guests or even simply your loved ones right there and then. There is generally little to clean up after a meal on the patio as you don't need to worry about messes on the floor, the dogs can get those, you just need to bring the plates indoors and wash them. In the event the table is actually dirty then you just hose it down as well as let it dry by itself in the sun and wind.

The actual South African patios are usually really low upkeep as well as designed to stand up to the heavy storms that can come along in summer time. You can even place a roof over your patio and sit out in the warm and watch the rain fall outside your enclosed space. You may want to occasionally do a bit of weeding or even painting but there's very little you need to do with the average patio as they are not large and complicated. The actual spiders can have their way more often than not and they will never bother most of your guests as they are accustomed to seeing spiders outside and likely even have a handful of their own in their own patio.

As you can certainly see, the patio is an extremely popular part of a house within South Africa. Any patio is usually very frequently put to use, particularly in the summer months. An enclosed patio can also be an excellent spot to entertain even in winter if it gets enough sunlight and it is out of the wind. If you do not have a outdoor patio then you might want to think about investing in one. You will be able to have braais in comfort as well as entertain without creating an excessive amount of mess to clear up afterwards. An outdoor patio is not the most expensive thing to have added to your home and, unless you are planning on doing some thing elaborate, doesn't need planning permission as it is not a part of the house and has absolutely no foundations as well as wiring to worry about.
