99% Finding Nemo 3D

Re-releasing a movie in 3D is one of, if not the dumbest gimmick Hollywood has going right now. However, that doesn't affect the movie. Finding Nemo was first released in 2003 and I recall my mom taking me and mt brothers to go see it the day it opened. I haven't really seen much of the movie since then, but now I've seen it again and I've come to realize how great it is. It's about an over-protective clown fish named Marlin who is afraid of anything 10 feet away from his home and he loses his son, Nemo, to some divers and now he has to go out of his comfort zone to rescue him. Along the way he meets up with a lot of likable characters. One of those characters is a fish named Dory and she has short-term memory loss. Dory is easily the most fun character in the movie. She's gullible and her memory sucks, but she's optimistic and loyal to Marlin. I think that one of the best things the movie has going for it is the range of characters in the movie. There are fish-loving sharks and really laid back turtles who show up as the movie progresses and those two are just to name a few. Pretty much every character in the movie is funny in their own way. The humor in the movie is spot on. There are jokes that will have both kids and adults laughing, not because there are some innapropriate jokes that adults will get and they'll just fly over the kids heads, but because the jokes are subtle and they're not aimed at just one age group. Also, the voice actors in the movie are all fantastic. Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Willem Dafoe are just a few of the voice actors who do their job well. Even the kid voicing Nemo was really good. Normally with kid actors they sound like they're reading off cue cards, but the kid in this sounded natural and convincing. As normal with Pixar standards, the animation is perfect and you can't really expect any less from them. As the movie goes along, the characters develop and it all reaches the peak of emotion. The opening scene alone is full of emotion just like the ending scene. It's really about a father-son relationship and the type of dedication family shows to eachother. Finding Nemo is one of Pixar's greatest films and I'm really glad I rewatched the movie. If you like Pixar, then you'll love this movie. If you just enjoy animation movie in general, then you will enjoy this movie a lot. Everything about it is great, the animation, voice acting, humor, characters, and emotion. Watch this movie if you want to forget about Pixar making the Cars movies.
