Road To Wellness? #1 Oral Sex STD Transmission

Road to Wellness? #1 Oral Sex STD Transmission

Most men and women do often make the mistake of not caring enough to make their oral sex safe and overlook the risk of getting an oral sex STD transmission to them. This would occur when they don't bother to wear protection (a condom) while having oral sex.

Oral sex would become a high risk activity when sexual active people thought STD is only transmitted through sexual intercourse and do unprotected oral sex. Modern medical science have shown us that STD could be transmitted by an infected person to another person through saliva, the semen, discharge fluids or from the virus living in the mouth, lips, tongue and throat.

The common STD transmitted through unprotected oral sex are herpes (most common), gonorrhoea and syphilis, while the human papillomavirus, hepatitis and chlamydia are another possible risk. HIV is rare as the HIV virus are present in saliva in low levels, making infection uncommon unless there are cuts and bruises in the parts of the body where oral sex is given.

Some possible symptoms of STD infections : long-term fever without obvious causes, sores on the body and genital organs, tiredness for long periods, losing weight, no appetite, acute skin problems, rashes and itching on the genital organs, having mouth, tongue and throat sores. If you are suffering from some of these STD symptoms, it is a good idea to get tested soonest possible.

STD testing is a simple and painless process available in the United States and in many other countries too. It is available free or paid in government or private hospitals and clinics. If you are afraid to visit a hospital or clinic because of privacy and confidential issues, a good option is using home test kits. You just need to go on-line, decide on which of the tests you want to take or take everything if you are unsure, order and pay on-line and wait for the home test kit to arrive. Once it arrives, you send in a sample from the privacy of your home to the test lab and the test results could be access on-line a couple of days later.

STD is a common disease affiliated with sexually active people practising high risk sex behaviour. The CDC (Centres For Disease Control & Prevention) in the United States have concluded in a report that 85% of common infectious diseases are sexually related diseases. If you want to have oral sex, do it safe using a condom. Please feel free to leave some comments below and thank you for reading the article.
